Bunions

What is it? Bunions can occur in two different places on the foot, one involving the 1st metatarsophalangeal joint complex and the other involving the 5th.

In some cases bunions can become painful through pressure from footwear, degenerative changes within the joint, impingement of nerves running on the outside or from loading on the joint during walking and standing.

There are many conservative treatments which may improve this pain and discomfort. Including orthotic therapy to slow down the degenerative progression of the deformity.

Please make an appointment with our podiatrist today to discuss these options.
